Egg beater

There were two versions of the egg beater — both manual:

  1. A handle attached to a kind of wide “spring,” which, when moved up and down quickly and intensely (a kind of bouncing motion), was used by housewives to whip the eggs.

  2. The second type was a more “advanced” or “automatic” egg beater, as it was called back then. You just placed the two beaters into the bowl and turned the handle — the work was much easier and faster.
